The property is situated on a beautiful 5 acre estate. There are two structures on the property shared by 4 families but this rental property is the one storey house (capanna), completely rebuilt to traditional high Tuscan standards some 17 years ago, and is the separate house you can see on the right in the overhead view photo.
The spectacular infinity swimming pool is shared by the four families. This is open from mid May to mid September.
The property contains all the modern features you would expect. Including a dishwasher, wine cooler, SMEG fridge, instant hot water, wi-fi, DVD player, and an indoor dining table for 6 for the rare occasions you can't eat outside.
The large terrace, covered with wisteria and jasmine, was recently extended to 75 square meters. It has a large dining table which seats up to 8 people, next to which there is a large space with relaxing chairs and a drinks table.
The uncovered part of the terrace faces both the pool and the valley over to the medieval village of La Befa and beyond, with room for 4 sun loungers.
The pool is not fenced so we are sorry but no children under twelve years old please.
We are 10 minutes drive from the pretty medieval partially walled town of Buonconvento which is classified as one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy. We're in the heart of the famous Brunello wine growing region of Montalcino and in fact you can see Montalcino from the property. It is only 30 minutes drive to the city of Siena and a similar distance from Pienza and the Val d'Orcia, all being UNESCO World Heritage sites.
The spectacular medieval hilltop towns of Montalcino , San Quirico , Pienza are also within half an hour as is the charming spa village of Bagno Vignoni .....these are just a few of the must see places in the area.
Buonconvento has 2 supermarkets, shops, cafes and restaurants plus 3 banks .The towns railway station has regular services to Siena and Florence, and the coastal town of Grosseto. Try the wine tasting at one of the many Vineyards and enjoy concerts and festivals which are held throughout the year.
The house is only some 500 metres to Murlo railway station where trains to Siena and Grosseto stop 4 times daily
This southern part of Tuscany is the setting for most of the iconic images tourists are drawn to when deciding to visit this part of Italy. It is truly authentic and a guaranteed hit with travellers of all ages.
Without exception all the hill top towns retain their medieval architecture and of course spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside
