The characteristic houses, made of local stones, give it a special atmosphere. The streets are two straight lines one above the other on top of the hill. Montecastelli is located 2 km from the river Peacock (Pavone) where it is possible to swim, to take long walks in a beautiful canyon until you reach the confluence with the river Cecina.
